When the two chemical engineers and university friends Alfred Keller and Albin Bohacek laid the foundation for today's Keller & Bohacek GmbH & Co. KG in 1926, the world was a different place. But their passion for chemistry endured, enabling KEBO to become what it is today.
A company’s history doesn’t come into being all at once – it grows step by step. In its anniversary year, KEBO is therefore telling its story in stages: month by month, decade by decade.
With a continuous #TBT post series on LinkedIn, we will look back chronologically from February to November at defining moments from 100 years of KEBO. Each post represents one decade – condensed into a single story, an event, a memory.
The focus is on people, developments, turning points, and small anecdotes that have shaped KEBO.
A retrospective that connects – and lays the groundwork for personal eyewitness accounts and a look ahead.
What remains of 100 years of company history? It is the people, their mindset – and the stories in between.
In a three-part video interview series, Uta Kruckenhauser, the founder’s daughter and a first-hand witness, shares personal insights into defining moments in KEBO’s history. Together with Stephanie Wedehase, a vivid dialogue unfolds between past, present, and future – honest, approachable, and authentic.
Small anecdotes and major decisions reveal what continues to shape KEBO to this day: unity, courage, and the conviction to take action. True to the guiding principle: “Our solution was always: we just did it.”

An anniversary is also a moment to look forward. With a concise podcast series titled “100 Years of KEBO”, KEBO deliberately opens up a dialogue about the future of the industry – addressing challenges, developments, and new forms of collaboration.
Under the title “Stable Connections – The KEBO Podcast,” a series of conversations brings together diverse perspectives: leading voices from the industry, external experts with an eye on the future of the sugar industry, and insights from Sales 4.0. Short, focused, and hands-on.
The podcasts build a bridge between experience and continued development. They show how KEBO thinks: open-minded, solution-oriented, and in close exchange with partners and markets. In this way, the forward-looking perspective complements the review of 100 years – and makes it clear that KEBO will continue to step in wherever an industry in transition needs reliable answers.
The products shown on our website are only a selection of our entire product range. There is no universal remedy for the rapid removal of impurities. Some can be removed well with alkaline agents, others better in the acidic range. The large variety of conceivable cleaning problems and the large number of additives, inhibitors and ready-to-use cleaning solutions offered by us make it advisable to obtain detailed advice before starting cleaning.
The same applies to inhibitors, defoamers, scale preventers, corrosion inhibitors, pickling inhibitors, etc. Depending on the plant, material, product and the type of boiler/cooling water is used, different individual challenges arise. We are well equipped for them.
