A highly efficient inhibitor formulation for the protection of metal materials during the chemical cleaning or pickling with hydrochloric acid and mixtures of hydrochloric acid/hydrofluoric acid at temperatures up to 90°C.

    • Effective at temperatures up to 90 °C
    • For cast iron the maximum working temperature is 40 °C
    • For Hydrochloric Acid and Mixtures of Hydrochloric Acid/Hydrofluoric
    • Dissolves immediately when added to diluted or concentrated hydrochloric acid
    • Contains a combination of specifically acting inhibitors and special surfactants with a high wetting effect. A quick wetting of the surfaces to be cleaned is ensured by reducing the interfacial tension.
    • The dissolution of mill scales is not impaired by LITHSOLVENT 620.
    • LITHSOLVENT 620 inhibits the corrosion of the following materials in the range of temperature mentioned above:
      • standard steel
      • special steel (e.g. superheater steel and low temperature resistant steel)
      • alloys on copper basis.
      • Cast iron is protected up to max. 40°C only.

In the table below the corrosion rates at 5 % HCl at 60°C and 75°C for steel material St 37 at a duration of action of 3 hours with and without the inhibitor LITHSOLVENT 620 are indicated as example for the good protection against corrosion.

Aluminium and light metal alloys as well as zinc, tin and chrome are not sufficiently protected.
For cast iron the max. working temperature is 40°C.

          Dosing, Addition

In general the dosing rate amounts to 2.5 kg LITHSOLVENT 620/m3 diluted cleaning or pickling acid. If the inhibitor should be added into the concentrated acid, 1.5 kg LITHSOLVENT 620 have to be dosed per 100 kg acid. The duration of action of the inhibited acid on the materials should not exceed 6 hours.

At temperatures above 80°C the dosing rate should be increased to 5 kg LITHSOLVENT 620 per m³ cleaning solution.
To avoid corrosion damages by pitting the acid concentration should not exceed 50 g HCl per liter solution.
After cleaning the plant and apparatus should be carefully rinsed with water until they are free from acid.

The products shown on our website are only a selection of our entire product range. There is no universal remedy for the rapid removal of impurities. Some can be removed well with alkaline agents, others better in the acidic range. The large variety of conceivable cleaning problems and the large number of additives, inhibitors and ready-to-use cleaning solutions offered by us make it advisable to obtain detailed advice before starting cleaning.
The same applies to inhibitors, defoamers, scale preventers, corrosion inhibitors, pickling inhibitors, etc. Depending on the plant, material, product and the type of boiler/cooling water is used, different individual challenges arise. We are well equipped for them.

Talk to us, we will be happy to help!
On request, we can analyze deposits in our laboratory and develop a cleaning strategy based on our many years of experience, taking into account the conditions on site.
