Cleaning concentrate for acidic scale removal with combined protection. He is suitable as an acidic and ready-inhibited cleaning concentrate with its unique property profile for dissolving mineral scales and other deposits at temperatures up to max. 90 °C.

    Methanesulfonic acid offers multiple advantages: MSA is a strong organic acid that has no oxidizing properties. The salts that MSA forms with metals are readily soluble. Further advantages from an ecological point of view are the easy degradability and the low carbon content (TOC). MSA is increasingly used as an ingredient in acidic cleaners, as it is significantly less hazardous than conventional cleaner acids such as phosphoric or hydrochloric acid at high acid strength. According to OECD Guideline 301 A, MSA is readily biodegradable and is therefore also referred to as a "green" acid.

      Dosing, Addition

      The recommended dilution ratio is 1:13, which corresponds to a solution containing 5 % acid.

        For scales mainly consisting of carbonate the cleaning process is completed when the gas formation (carbonic acid) has stopped. Due to the gas formation the installations and rooms have always to be well aerated.
          The duration of an acidification should not exceed 6 hours. In case there are still residual scales after the treatment, the acidification has to be repeated, if necessary.
            After acidification the object has to be carefully rinsed whereby loose sludge is removed, too. 
              Finally, it is recommended to neutralize with a 1 % sodium carbonate or caustic soda solution at ambient temperature or slight heating. Duration: 1 - 2 hours.

                Storage

                In closed original packages LITHSOLVENT CLEANER 721 is storable for at least 1 year. Protect from freezing and heat.
                Precautions for safe handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Open and handle containers with care. Do not open warm and inflated containers. Information about fire and explosion protection: The substance/mixture is not flammable.
